Outdoor School here at Weston Middle School has finished up! Students had many classes and experiences in the field, including a hike on the Umatilla River. Eastern Oregon spring weather threw all it could at our students (wind, downpours, hail, snow pellets, 6" of fresh snow, and a bit of sunshine).
Field Studies included:
Ridgelines, tye-dye, hobo stove making and using, water quality, fish habitat, First Foods, Tribal history, weather, first aid, wildlife management, dutch oven cooking, photography, survival fires, orienteering, hobo stew, hiking, flora identification, MREs, and wilderness hiking!
We are super grateful for our volunteers and presenters. What a rich experience you have helped provide to these young TigerScots.
